Ultracast has released two new accessory sets for Tamiya's 1/48 scale F4U-1.

48203 - F4U-1 Corsair Flaps (up position)

The first accessory is a set of flaps for Tamiya's 1/48 scale F4U Corsair kits. Tamiya's flaps are designed to be installed dropped, and they do not fit well if fitted in the "up" position.

Ultracast has now addressed this challenge with a new set of replacement flaps specifically designed to be installed in the up position.

The two larger flaps on each side are cast as a single part to ease alignment, and each of the flap sections includes a prominent locating tab for a secure bond with the wing.

Impressive recessed detail is cast on the edges of the flaps (although this will not be visible with the flaps in the closed position).

Casting quality is well up to Ultracast's very superb standards.

48204 - F4U-1 Corsair Exhausts

These two resin parts are a drop-fit replacement for Tamiya's exhausts.

The kit parts are somewhat undersized and thick. Ultracast's replacements are beautifully thin, subtly shaped and in scale.

Both these accessories will be welcomed by Corsair fans.
