The rudder supplied with Trumpeter’s 1/48 scale C-47 kit represents a metal surface rudder whereas early C-47s had a fabric covered rudder.

Cammett Limited has released a 1/48 scale C-47 replacement rudder that portrays the fabric texture and ribbing evident through the surface detail. The single resin part captures this detail perfectly. 

The rudder is crisply moulded in grey resin.  The part is attached to serious-looking casting block but this is easily removed with a sharp hobby knife.

Adding the rudder to the kit fin will be very straightforward with no modification required to allow the new part to fit.  Modellers with very little modelling experience will be able to install this rudder.

This is a nice simple upgrade to accurately detail the Trumpeter 1/48 scale C-47 kit and will look very realistic when fully assembled and painted.
