Two Bobs has been known to produce some of the most unique jet aircraft subjects in the decal industry. True to form, Two Bobs' latest F-16 decal release is of a very appealing silver and red Minute Men 50th Anniversary F-16. The Block 30 F-16C is from the stables of the Colorado Air National Guard, 140th FS.

In 2006, a Colorado ANG F-16C was painted in the special anniversary colors, to honor and pay their respects to the ANG's only aerial demonstration team, the Minute Men.

The color scheme was based on the original aerial demonstration team F-86.

By January of 2007, the F-16C was repainted back to the standard two tone Hill II gray scheme. The instructions were quite informative in explaining the background to the Minute Men aerial demonstration team.

The decals are up to Two Bobs' usual high standards with great opacity and minimal carrier film. Included are complete markings for the Minute Men F-16C. The font and script of the markings are dead on. In the 48th scale version, there is one full and one third decal sheets, as well as tiny "Minute Man" printed insert, on a solid carrier. The little "Minute Man" printing is well down by the way. The 32nd scale version is comes in two and a half sheets, with the small "Minute Man" insert.

Most of the red colors are in decal form, covering some most of the areas that would be otherwise hard to mask for paint. The modeler will have to paint the lower and upper areas of the aircraft model, as well as the centerline tank. There should be no problem painting the red areas, as the instructions give matched FS numbers, which are also matched for the printed decals.

The 32nd scale decals are sized for the Tamiya F-16C Thunderbird kit. Though it's not a Block 30D F-16C kit and lacks the big mouth intake w/GE engine, the necessary parts can be ordered separately, or swapped from the Tamiya 32nd CJ kit. The 48th scale sheet is appropriately sized for the Hasegawa F-16C.

The instruction sheets are identical, except for the available kits and accessories list. The text accuracy and aircraft notes are correct for this subject. There are a few photographs of the real jet in the instructions that gives the modeler a base point reference. This is one of those unique color schemes that would surely be a center piece for any model collection and turn heads at a contest.

Highly recommended.

My thanks to Two Bobs Decals for the review sample.
