The second release in the Dutch Profile series was "P-51D/K
Mustang History, Camouflage and Markings, Royal Netherlands East
Indies Air Force", released during 2004. This book covers the
Mustang's role in the Dutch return to the Netherlands East
Indies, and also touches on the transformation of some of these
machines in the new Indonesian Air Force.
The
book offered the option of decals covering some of the most
striking subjects in the book in the scales of 1/72 and 1/48.
Dutch Profile now offers these subjects in 1/32 scale for
either the Hasegawa or Dragon P-51D Mustang kits.
Subjects are P-51D and Ks, with a combination of standard and
Dallas canopies, in Dutch and Indonesian markings.
A wild, shark mouth Indonesian P-51D is certainly the most
spectacular of the subjects on this sheet.
The decals are produced to the same high standard as Dutch
Decals earlier releases, with thin carrier film and generally
good registration, although the yellow of the biggest shark's
mouth was slightly misaligned on my sample.
Instructions are good, with colour diagrams and text
descriptions in English.
Recommended.
Thanks to Luuk from
Dutch Profile for the
review samples.
