This decal sheet by Freightdog Models is a fine quality product depicting five aircraft in Royal Auxiliary Air Force, better known as the weekend warriors.  The decals are for two Meteor Mk 8s, one Harvard T.2B, one Spitfire LF.Mk16e and one Mosquitto T.3.

The schemes depicted are post-war era schemes between 1948 and 1955.

The decals are superbly printed by Fantasy Print Shop and they have good colour saturation and register.  As usual with Fantasy Print Shop Decals the carrier film is ultra thin and my experience with these decals in the past has been that the decals have to be handled carefully and snuggle down into the surface detail well.  The carrier film then almost totally disappears under a coat of clear.

Freightdog has done a great job job of the decal artwork and the instruction sheet artwork.  The colour instruction sheet give some good detail of colours and decal positioning for the aircraft.

The five schemes provided are as follows:

  1. North American Harvard T.2B FX432 ‘R’ of 500 Sqn RAF based at RAF Malling in 1952.  This aircraft is finished in High Speed Silver FS17178 with Trainer Yellow BS381C:368 stripes painted on the wings and fuselage.

  1. Gloster Meteor F.Mk.8 WK784 of 604 (County of Middlesex) Sqn RAF based at RAF North Weald in 1953.  This aircraft is finished in High Speed Silver FS17178 with Trainer Yellow BS381C:368 nose gear door, fin and horizontal tail stabilisers and a BS381C. 538 Red tail bullet fairing.

  1. Gloster Meteor F.Mk.8 WK784 of 604 (County of Middlesex) Sqn RAF based at RAF North Weald in 1953.  This aircraft is finished in High Speed Silver FS17178 with Trainer Yellow BS381C:368 nose gear door and a BS381C. 538 Red tail bullet fairing.

  1. Supermarine Spitfire LF.Mk 16.e SL727 HT.L of 601 (County of London) Sqn RAF based at RAF North Weald in late 1949.  This aircraft is finished in High Speed Silver FS17178 with a BS381C. 538 Red propeller spinner.

  1. De Havilland Mosquitto T.Mk.3 VT588 of 608 Sqn RAF based at RAF Manston in 1948.  This aircraft is finished in overall Trainer Yellow BS381C:368.

Highly Recommended.
