Cutting Edge has introduced another fine
quality decal sheet depicting schemes for F100D Super Sabres
nicknamed the Hun. This is the first sheet in the limited edition
series.
The decals are designed for the Trumpeter 1/32 scale kit. The decals
are superbly printed with good colour saturation and excellent
register. As usual the carrier film is ultra thin and my experience
with Cutting Edge decals that I have used in the past is that the
decals have to be handled carefully and snuggle down into the
surface detail well. I always use decal setting solution but this is
not necessary. The carrier film then almost totally disappears under
a coat of clear.
Very few data decals are provided so you may need to refer to the
kit decal sheets for these but full national markings are provided
for the aircraft as follows:
-
F-100D-65-NA 56-3000 flown by Col Raymond
Toliver who was commander of the 20th TFW based at RAF
Wethersfield Essex England in late 1957. This aircraft was
finished in overall natural metal with red, yellow and blue
trim. Col Raymond Toliver is the co-author of great books such
as Horrido which is a bibliography of the top German aces of
WWII and The Blond Knight of Germany which is the story of Erich
Hartmann.
