One thing that I have come to appreciate in the numerous combined exercises and operations that I have participated in with the USAF is their excellent Combat Camera capability. They have the ability to capture some of the most spectacular images of military equipment and personnel doing extraordinary things.

The best of these images often find their way onto the USAF Official Website, but many more enter the imagery archives.

Either way it is often hard to find older images of a particular subject.

In this book Dennis Jenkins has compiled the best of 2006 from USAF Official sources, bringing together a range of subjects from the venerable B-52 to the F-35 prototype.

The book is broken down into 12 chapters (one per month) with an average of three full colour images per page. In total it is a slick package of useful images, all with detailed captions adding to their reference volume. One image I was particularly pleased to see was a photo of an RAAF F-111 from a Red Flag deployment early in 2006.

This volume is of very high quality and a worthy investment for modelling reference. The book will serve both history buffs and modellers well.  As this is Volume One, I have high hopes for future books in this series.

Highly Recommended.
