Ultracast once again turns its attention to the P-40 with
two new seats and two new sets of wheels.
48169 - P-40N Seat (US Harness)
48170 - P-40N Seat (without Harness)
Some years ago, Ultrcast released a series of generic P-40
seats with and without harnesses.
These new seats are cast onto an armoured rear bulkhead
specifically designed for the Hasegawa P-40N kit. Not only is the bulkhead
better detailed than the kit part, it includes the support bar for the shoulder
harness traps. The harness straps are realistically draped on part 48169
(pictured at the top of the page). Part number 48170 is cast without the resin
harness, so you will be able to paint the seat then loop your preferred harness
over the bar. This seat will be ideal for Eduard's pre-painted Color Etch
harness.
Either of these seats will make a prominent and attractive
addition to your Hasegawa 1/48 scale Warhawk.
48171 - P-40N Covered Wheels, Diamond Tread
48172 - P-40N Covered Wheels, Block Tread
The P-40N started life as a lightweight design. Part of the
strategy to reduce the weight of the N model Warhawk was to use smaller main
wheels of 27" diameter.
Ultracast has added to their growing range of P-40 wheels with these two new
wheel sets with covered hubs. These two new wheel sets will be suitable for any
brand of P-40N, or even for a TP-40N conversion, and presumably the XP-40Q too.
The tyres are subtly weighed and bulged. Detail is superb. Even the screw head
slots are present on the wheel covers!
The only difference between these two releases are the tread pattern. One is a
block tread, while the second is a diamond pattern.
All Highly Recommended.
