Radu Brinzan is a master modeller with a well-earned reputation for quality and detail, as typified by his recent master for the amazing MDC 1/32 scale Ki-61.

Radu's newest release continues the theme of the first two with a photo-etched wheel well replacement for Hasegawa's 1/32 scale Messerschmitt Bf 109 G. This is the style for the Bf 109 G fitted with the 660 x 160mm wheel fitted to many G-4s and the vast majority of G-6 and G-14 aircraft. Some G-10 aircraft were also equipped with these wheels. These aircraft may easily be identified by the small kidney-shaped bumps on top of the wings.

This new set comprises 64 parts on a single photo-etched fret.

The small but well detailed instruction leaflet describes the construction process. The biggest challenge will be executing clean curved folds for the various pressed reinforcement channels. A technique for achieving this is included in the instruction, but I recommend practicing on scrap before applying it to the conversion parts.

Raised detail will need to be removed from the kit wheel well before installing the photo-etched parts. The two locating holes in the top of the wing will need to be filled too.

Detail on the parts is superb. I especially liked the prominently raised rivets and the stitching along the top and bottom of the "canvas" wheel well lining. Nice stuff.

This is an authentically detailed set which wil greatly enhance the underside of your Bf 109 kits. You will need previous experience working with photo-etched parts, but the results should be spectacular.

Highly Recommended to experienced modellers.

Thanks to Radu Brinzan for the sample
