Quickboost continues their prolific release schedule with a number of simple, economical accessories in 1/72, 1/48 and 1/32 scales. Tonight we take a look at some of the latest releases in 1/72 scales.

All the sets are perfectly cast in grey resin, with minimal cleanup required. Each set has been designed with a minimum of parts, and should be very straightforward to assemble.

The latest batch of 1/72 scale Quickboost releases are as follows:

QB 72 066 - K-14 US Gunsights
QB 72 066 - N-3A/B US Gunsights
QB 72 068 - Mk. VIII US Gunsights
QB 72 069 - GM2 British Gunsights

Although these sets comprise six complete gunsights. The body of the gunsight is in resin, with printed acetate reflectors. The Mk.VIII US gunsight also includes tiny photo-etched ring sights.

QB 72 070 - P-39Q/N Airacobra Engine (Academy)

 

 

A drop-in engine for the port side of Academy's Airacobra kit. A matching exhaust is also included for the starboard side. There are a couple of tiny pinholes in my sample that will need a spot of putty before assembly.


QB 72 082 - P-61A Black Widow Gun Barrels (Dragon / Bilek)

 

 

Beautifully detailed and quite spectacular in this small scale, these replacement machine gun barrels are mounted and ready to install in the Dragon / Bilek Black Widow kits. The barrels feature perforations and the ends are drilled out.

QB 72 083 - P-40N Warhawk Exhausts (Hobby Boss)

 

 

A drop-fit replacement for the exhausts in the surprisingly nice Hobby Boss Warhawk. It is interesting to see resin accessories starting to appear for these inexpensive and simple to build kits. The exhaust stacks are all hollowed out at the ends, and the parts are connected to the casting block via a thin strip


QB 72 085 - F4U-1D Corsair Engine (Hasegawa)

 

 

Six resin pieces make up this lovely little replica for Hasegawa's F4U-1D Corsair. Cooling fins on the cylinders and crankcase detail is excellent, but you will have to add your own pushrods and ignition wiring. Nobody would blame you if you did not attempt it in this scale though!

QB 72 087 - F-16D Ejection Seats with Harnesses x 2

 

 

Beautifully detailed replacement ejection seats designed for Hasegawa's 1/72 scale two-hole F-16D.
