Aires continues its prolific release schedule with a number of recent releases in 1/72 scale.

All the sets are perfectly cast in grey resin, with minimal cleanup required. Each set has been designed with a minimum of parts, and should be straightforward to assemble:

QB 72 086 - Messerschmitt Bf 110 G Propeller w/Tool

This set is designed for the Italeri 1/72 scale Bf 100 G kit. Itcomprises replacement separate propeller blades and spinners, all of which are much improved in shape over the Italeri kit parts.

A clever assembly jig is also included.

 

 

It will take a little extra time to remove the casting blocks from the bottom of the spinners, but the result will be worthwhile.

QB 72 090 - B-25C Mitchell Engines & Cowlings

 

 

This boxed set includes four resin parts to completely replace the cowlings and engines in Italeri's very nice 1/72 scale B-25C Mitchell kit.

The detail on all parts is excellent, but you will have to add your own pushrods and ignition harness if desired. In this scale, I am sure that nobody would blame you if you didn't though!

The small exhaust ejectors on the cowling are cast in place and hollowed out - very impressive.

QB 72 091 - B-24J Liberator Gun Barrels

QB 72 095 - Junkers Ju 88 G-1 Gun Barrels

 

 

Beautifully detailed and quite spectacular in this small scale, these replacement machine gun barrels are mounted and ready to install in the Academy (B-24), Hasegawa/Revell/Smer (Hurricane) and Hasegawa (Ju 88) kits.

The barrels feature perforations and the ends are drilled out.

QB 72 092 - Ilyushin Il-2 Exhausts

These are ultra-simple, drop fit replacements for Eduard's 1/72 scale Il-2 kit.

 

 

Even in this small scale, the ends of the stacks are hollowed out.
