Description

This is Pavla’s 1/72 scale BT-13A.

Surprisingly, the recessed panel lines of this kit are very sharp. I only added rivets.

I scratch built the inside of the cockpit. The seat made of the resin. I based the shape on the seat on a 1/48 scale AT-6 kit.

The spinner, propeller assembly and cowling are converted from Hasegawa’s IJN bomber Type 96, with some modifications.

All markings and the nose arts are painted by myself.

I wanted to make this shiny silver airframe look as realistic as possible. Despite the striking finish though, this plane’s real charm is the nose art on both sides. I can only ask forgiveness if there is a copyright issue after duplicating the artwork from a photo!

The model was finished in silver paints over a base of gloss-black, dark area : Creos super-fine-silver, light area & spinner: Creos Super-Metallic chrome silver. This was my first attempt at depicting polished metal using Creos’ new silver paints.
