Revell's 1/32 scale LS-8 will be available from Squadron.com
I am back again with another prototype model from Revell, this time
the 1/32 scale ASK-21 Glider.
When I build a white aircraft model, I often used the Basic-Color
from Revell, because it does not yellow over time as many white colours
tend to. It retains its pure white finish even ten years into the
future! But you must sand and polish, sand and polish...
I built two of these brand new models.
The aircraft-number D-2239 TW is a LS-8-18, which has a span of 18
meters.
The other one is the 15 meter version (Standard-Class), but I have
given it fictional markings (D-6215 Old Playboy Bunny).
The Ka-6CR in the background on one photo was "my" plane in our club
in Lemwerder/Germany during the 1960s. I could not resist borrowing the
old number and the Playboy logo...
I fitted a small brass tube between the wings across the fuselage to
improve strength. This also meant that I did not have to glue the wings
to the fuselage.
The models fitted together perfectly and the cockpit includes many
nice details.
Let's all hope that we see a tow plane in 1/32 scale too! (I'll vote
for a Piper Warrior myself - ed.)
