Tamiya's 1/48 scale F-84G Thunderjet is available online from Squadron
 

This is Revell’s 1/48 F-84G Thunderjet in Yugoslav service. The only aftermarket item was a sheet of decals by Lift Here. Total cost of this project: €15.

Additional work included:

• Detailed cockpit (scratch built side consoles, instrument backs, sliding canopy deck, ejection rails and cylinder

• Detailed landing gear (nose leg, nose wheel, main legs)

• Scratch-built air-brake compartment (inside piping, cylindrical shield, air-brake details)

• Navigation lights, Pitot-tube, side air-inlets, some rivets, and other small details…

Paints were a mix of Humbrol and Xtracolor, further tweaked to represent classic Yugoslavian camouflage used on this airplane. Weathering consists of pre-shading, dry-brushing, oil wash, silver pencil, and minor post-shading.

Final coat is a mix of Future and Gunze Clear Matt diluted in alcohol.

All images were made on my work bench using Canon EOS Digital Rebel camera and a stock EF-S 18-55 lens, mounted on a tripod, with two tungsten bulbs providing the light.
