Introduction

The famous Canadian high-wing airplane DHC-2 Beaver was widely used all over the world, but facts on Beaver use in theYugoslav Air Force are little known.

In the early 1950s, the Yugoslav Army and Air Force were equipped with large quantities of western military equipment. A small part of this military assistance in 1954 were three DHC-2 floatplanes.

In their 20 years of service they served on coastal observation, liaison, air-sea rescue duties.

Construction

For this project I have used the 1/72 scale Hobbycraft DHC-2 Beaver Floatplane kit.

One of major omissions is complete absence of panel lines, therefore all panel detail was scribed according to my 1/72 scale plans.

Some modifications were also undertaken to represent improvements made locally to the actual airplane such as air intake beneath cowling, radio antenna mast and reshaped radio housing. There were scratchbulit.

The balance of assembly went smoothly.

Painting and Markings

All markings was home made, art work was done in Croel 11 program and then laser printed on Tango Papa clear decal film. Spray masks for markings white areas was cut on digital cutter ( in local copy center) as well as spray masks for wing and fuselage numbers.
