Remember that scene in "Back to the Future" when Marty McFly goes
forward in time twenty five years and finds himself in his home
town's square? Flying overheard is an electronic sign proclaiming
the Chicago Cubs have won the World Series?
Now picture me eleven years ago building and cussing out the
Classic Airframes first release, the Fokker DXXI. If somebody had
told me then that in 2006 I would be working on a Classic Airframes
Bf 109 that was actually a pleasure to build, I'd have felt as out
of place, confused and as bewildered as Marty. I probably would have
said "yeah right"!
The future is here and I have in my sludgy hands Classic
Airframes 1/48 scale "early Bf109s" kit.

This is their latest release and many will probably find it their
most interesting to date. I know, many you are saying how can
another 109 be interesting?
Well, the modeler is treated to engineering that provides
positionable control surfaces that are molded separately. No cutting
off ailerons and elevators with Xactos and razor saws anymore.
I honestly have to put this offering between Hasegawa and Tamiya
in terms of buildability.
This subject is painted in RLMs 65, 70, 71, and marked as an
aircraft belonging to II/JG132 "Richthofen" Juterborg-Damm,
1937.
I'll leave the more detailed reviews for others.
