Construction

A famous photo was taken of these Soviet soldiers hoisting the hammer and sickle over top of the Reichstag on 1 May 1945 to symbolize the fall of Berlin.

For an interesting description of this Soviet "Flag of Victory", follow this link.

Jaguar has now reproduced this scene in 1/35 scale with a resin vignette.

The vignette has been built straight from the box except for the base and the mid section. These were supposed to be supplied but were missing in my box. Rather than wait for replacements I scratch built them myself.

Painting

All surfaces were painted with Vallejo acrylics except for the flesh tones, which were done with Testor's Model Master enamels.

The overall quality of this set was very high - with the exception of the missing bits.

Give this vignette a go and have some fun!
