Quickboost continues their prolific release schedule with a number of simple, economical accessories in 1/72, 1/48 and 1/32 scales. Tonight we take a look at some of the latest releases in 1/48 scale.

All the sets are perfectly cast in grey resin, with minimal cleanup required. Each set has been designed with a minimum of parts, and should be very straightforward to assemble.

The latest batch of 1/48 scale Quickboost releases are as follows:

QB 48 078 - P-39Q/N Airacobra Exhausts (for Eduard)

A drop-fit replacement for the exhausts in the Eduard 1/48 scale P-39Q/N Airacobra. The exhaust stacks are all hollowed out at the ends, and the parts are connected to the casting block via a thin strip


QB 48 079 - Ilyushin Il-2 Exhausts

A drop-fit replacement for the exhausts in the Accurate Miniatures and now Eduard 1/48 scale Shturmovik. The exhaust stacks are all hollowed out at the ends, and the parts are connected to the casting block via a thin strip


QB 48 080 - P-61A Black Widow Gun Barrels

 

 

Excellent detail and a simple, gorgeously detailed, drop fit replacement for Monogram's kit parts.


QB 48 083 - Beaufighter Porcupine Exhausts II

 

 

Quickboost has delivered two delicately wrought replacements for Tamiya's woefully underdone kit exhausts. A prominent detail that will not go unnoticed on your Tamiya Beaufighter.


QB 48 084 - Messerschmitt Bf 109 F Tropical Dust Filter (Hasegawa)

 

 

This includes a finely cast open dust filter, plus a separate supercharger intake. It seems most appropriate for F-4/Z through to G-6/Trop variants.


QB 48 085 - Messerschmitt Bf 109 E Exhausts (Tamiya)

A drop-fit replacement for the exhausts in the Tamiya 1/48 scale Bf 109 E. The exhaust stacks are all hollowed out at the ends, and the parts are connected to the casting block via a thin strip


QB 48 086 - P-47D Thunderbolt Undercarriage Covers (Hasegawa)

 

 

Tamiya's Thunderbolts have overshadowed the Hasegawa kits to a large degree, but the older P-47 is still worth building if you have a few stashed away. Quickboost's new undercarriage covers will add extra detail to this area.


QB 48 088 - Fairey Swordfish Porcupine Exhaust

Pictured at the top of the page.

Beautifully detailed exhaust to replace the part in Tamiya's kit. Each of the tiny ejectors is hollowed out.


QB 48 089 - Spitfire Mk.IX Slipper Tank (Hasegawa / Revell)

 

 

The header card calls this a "Slippery Tank". I think I like it better than its official name - slipper tank. This is a simple, one piece accessory for any of the Hasegawa family of Spitfire kits.


QB 48 091 - Yak-1 Exhausts

A drop-fit replacement for the exhausts in the Eduard/Accurate Miniatures 1/48 scale Yak-1 kits. The exhaust stacks are all hollowed out at the ends, and each stack is individuallyconnected to the casting block via a thin strip. The single stacks must be installed separately.
