Here is my North American SNJ-3 at USNAS Pensacola built
from the old Monogram kit of the AT-6 Texan. All raised detail was
removed and rescribed , with rivet detail restored using a fine drill
where necessary.
A Falcon canopy was painted, cut and fitted to give a
more realsistic open effect for the sliding section. The dropped flaps
and under wing sections were embellished with some ribbing, using very
fine Evergreen strips. The gun and pitot tubes were made from steel
tubing.
I used Reheat harness buckles and masking tape for the
seat belts.
Painting was done with Floquil Railway Colors' Bright
Silver for the aluminium laquer finish. The other paints are Testor's
Chrome Yellow Gloss and Chrysler Engine Red.
Decals are from Aeromaster set No. 48-387.
