Hasegawa's 1/48
scale N1K2-J George is available online from Squadron.com
This
is the recent Hasegawa 1/48 scale N1K2-J "George".
It is built completely out of the box except for the resin
wheels, which actually were boxed with the "old" Hasegawa George. I found this
to be a nice kit to build with very few annoying construction issues.
The model is painted in Model Master paints, and weathered
with a liberal wash of Grumbacher artists oils/turpenoid. The colors I chose for
weathering included Raw Umber, Paynes Gray, and Burnt umber.

The "silver" weathering is from a layer of MM metalizer
alum. sprayed beneath the green. After painting the silver, I coated the model
w/Future, then painted as normal. When I was ready to weather the model, I
pulled the paint chips off with masking tape.
