Macchi MB339

FREM's 1/48 scale MB339 is available online from Squadron

This is the FREMS 1/48 MB339PAN Flecce Tri Colori. The kit was built straight from the box.

Overall the kit quality is good except for slight fitting problems on the fuselage underside and the intakes.

However, beware that the kit is a very heavy tail sitter. Even after I inserted some lead weights inside the nose, it still sits on its tail! Frustrated, I decided to mount it on a stand that was stolen from AA Model A5C Fantan kit. I'm quite happy with the result.

The blue used is Blue Angels blue,(FS 15050) and silver underside.

Beware also that the decal is a challenge to apply, as it spreads from the nose to the tail on some contouring surfaces. The decals are thin and adhere very well with some decal solution.
