KV-2 Heavy Tank

PST's 1/72 scale KV-2 is available online from Squadron.com

Here is Chris Wauchop's 1/72 scale KV-2 Heavy Tank by PST.

The model captures the bulk and appearance of this big vehicle even in such a small scale.

Chris reports that construction was generally smooth, but the tracks presented a challenge to fit closely around the rear drive sprocket. However, the styrene track lengths on the top run were long enough and soft enough to bend into an authentically loose droop between the return rollers.

The model was built out of the box, including kit decals, except for the replacement tow cables.

Weathering was achieved with acrylic paints in Chris's Aztek A470 airbrush. Subtle highlighting of edges was added using a 2B clutch pencil.

The photographs were taken indoors under three softened 500W incandescent lights with a Nikon Coolpix 5700 digital camera.
