Hawker Hurricane
Mk. IID |

Hasegawa's
1/48 scale Hurricane IID is availabke online from
Squadron.com
This is the 1/48 scale Hurricane IID from Hasegawa.
It doesn't seem a very popular subject according to
HyperScale's Gallery. This is strange, because it is a very nice kit and
the Hawker fighter comes in no less than 12 boxings by Hasegawa.
I build my Hurricane straight from the box, and only
added an RAF pilot from a Belgian company.
Paint used were only Tamiya acrylics thinned with
Spiritus. For the camouflage masking, I used my one year old son's
colour-clay. The one that never hardens. I rolled it in very long rolls
and sprayed alongside the skinny sausages so the edges would not be too
sharp or to soft. I like the result.
Weathering was done with pastels, scraped with a knife
to powder, and then added with a fine brush.
