Grumman F4F-4 Wildcat

 Tamiya's 1/48 scale F4F-4 Wildcat is available online from Squadron

Here is my 1/48 Tamiya Wildcat kit which I built as an  F4F-4 of VGF-29 on USS Santee.

The only accessories used were the Eduard photoetched set and aftermarket decals.

This is a wonderful kit and very easy to build.

I painted the model with Humbrol Enamels and washed the plane with oil paints thinned in lighter fluid.

The display base is a DIY picture frame combined with the Verlinden "Carrier Deck", also painted and washed.

The figures are from "Hecker & Goros".
