RAAF F-4E Phantom II

This kit is the 1/48 Hasegawa F4E Phantom II. Packaged with US anniversary markings.

No. 6 Squadron, Royal Australian Air Force, operated the F4E in the early 1970's as preparation for change over to the F111C in 1973.

The cockpit was replaced with the Black Box detail set. Exhausts are also a resin set. Bombs from a Hasegawa weapons set.

The three tone camouflage scheme was achieved by scrutinising my photo resource of RAAF F4E's.

Decals are from the original set (some stencils), Hasegawa 1/48 F4E stencils for USN, Aussie decals, Roodecal, and others. There is a set of after market decals which, quite obviously, I was unable to find!
