Hobbycraft's
1/48 scale P-40B/C is available online from Squadron.com
Here is Hobbycraft's Tomahawk Mk.IIa (AKA P-40B/C) in 1/48 scale.
I wasn't concerned about the outline inaccuracies, so the kit is
uncorrected from the box. Even so, in my opinion it ends up looking more
like an early P-40 than it does a Spitfire.
Reheat cockpit placards, Extratech etched harness and ring and bead
gunsight were added, and the figure is from CMK.
Cowling guns and pitot are hypodermic tubing and wing guns and
exhausts are drilled out.
The decals are the ones that came with the kit and paints are Gunze
Sangyo acrylics, with the camouflage pattern masked using stiff
paper.
Weathering was kept to a minimum and confined to an oil based wash,
some fading of the fabric covered elevators and ailerons, and some minor
exhaust staining down the flanks.
The figure is painted using Humbrol enamels and is actually my first
attempt with a figure, so I'm quite pleased with the way he's turned
out.
