Tamiya's 1/48 scale Mosquito
B.IV / PR.IV is

Here is Tamiya's 1/48 scale Mosquito B Mk.IV / PR Mk. IV
kit converted to a PR XVI variant. The subject aircraft was operated by 680 Sqn.
RAF in Foggia during 1944.
I used the Paragon Designs two-stage Merlin engines that
were originally designed for the Airfix kit. However, with a little persuasion
they can be adapted to fit the Tamiya kit.

I dropped the flaps using the excellent Model Design
Construction flaps that were part of their control surfaces set.
The model was painted with Xtracolor PR Blue enamel. I used
Aeromaster decals "Recon Birds" no. 48-082. However, I painted the fin and
rudder white with the red stripes, as the tail decals appeared to be a little
translucent.

Finally, I created the blister for the top of the canopy as
none of the vacform versions seem to produce a three-blister version.
