This "virtual scratchbuilt" model is based on a drawing I
saw in a Gatefold book with the following designation:
Junkers Ju 87B-2 7. Staffel II Gruppe Stukageschwader 77 Eastern
Front

The mesh was created in 3D Studio Max 3.1 and the textures painted
in Photoshop. I spent far too much time on it (about 100-120 hrs of
free time over two months) but I am quite happy with the results. I
still need to improve a bit on the weathering techniques, as my flaky
paint job is a bit too flaky.

I created the model for my digital portfolio and it is my first
attempt at a complex military airplane model. I rendered the images
with the express intent on making it look like a real 1/24 scale
plastic model.

That might sound a bit weird, but I wanted to showcase my skills
not only as a computer artist, but as a modeller that can use digital
tools.
