This is my F-100D Super Sabre model. I used the old 1/48
scale Monogram "Thunderbirds" Sabre as the base model.
My intention was to build a Vietnam war veteran aircraft, so I picked up some
spare decals and painted the model with the South East Asia cammo pattern. The
SM letters of the tail was made by a friend and fitted well at the model.
I opened some hatches of the plane and I installed some pipes and wires inside
it. The covers were done by aluminum foil and placed on the plane wing, to
simulate some fixing work. One cannon hatch was opened too, revealing the cannon
barrel. The napalm bombs are from Monogram's A-10 model.
I painted one of the underwing fuel tanks silver. My objective was to simulate a
tank originally from a silver F-100 still not painted with the SEA camouflage
scheme.
The paints used was Tamiya Acrilic and the metal scratches was done with a
silver paint roller pen.
