Tamiya's 1/48 scale AD-6 Skyraider is available online from Squadron.com

Here is the Douglas AD-6 Skyraider from Tamiya in 1/48 scale.

Long, long before Cutting Edge released their beautiful decal sheet, I planned to build exactly this plane from USS Forrestal.

Many weeks before I bought the brand new BJC-7000 printer from Cannon, I drew the markings on my PC and printed them on glossy paper. I made a copy in a Copy Shop onto blank decal sheet.

I used the very fine resin replacement cockpit set from Cutting Edge and detailed the model here and there with photoetched ignition wiring, any details in the the wheel wells and on the landing gears.

I replaced the kit-HVAR's with the very well designed Hi-Tech items.

This model was published in the German modelling magazine, Modell-Fan.
