The Royal Australian Air Force operated a quantity of British built Mk Ic, VIc, X and XI Beaufighters before the Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation commenced local manufacture of the Mk 21in mid 1944. This particular Beaufighter VIc carried its original RAF camouflage into service with the RAAF in the South-West Pacific.

Chris Wauchop continues his interest in the Beaufighter by building the 1/48 scale Tamiya kit with the Kendall Model Company resin update set. The Tamiya kit really benefits from the replacement cockpit and navigator positions, open cowl flaps and porcupine exhausts. Brake lines, rocket fuses, enhanced air intakes and antenna wires were all that was required to complete this very attractive package.

Decals came from Aeromaster set 48-341 "Beaufighters: Whispering Death".

More superb modelling by Chris.
