Fündekals is pleased to announce our new Grumman F4F Wildcat project!  The decal covers F4F-3s and -4s from the beginning of the war through early 1944, including never before available VC-13 Atlantic ASW scheme aircraft from the USS Core.  These aircraft are often mis-identified as FM-1s, but all were F4F-4s.  You’ll find markings for Lt. Noel Gayler’s “Fox Five” from the USS Lexington at the Battle of the Coral Sea, discovered virtually intact in 2018 by Paul Allen’s historic expedition to locate Lexington.  New information has surfaced on VF-41’s aircraft flying from USS Ranger during Operation Torch in 1942, and we also cover VF-4 in October of 1943, when the squadron participated in Operation Leader off northern Norway.

As usual, we cover many details of the aircraft that model manufacturers have ignored, with lots of photos and diagrams to explain it all.  We’re even going to include some “bonus markings” that we hope you’ll find useful.  The decal will be available in 1/48 and 1/32 scales, and will be printed by Cartograf in Italy.  We hope to have them available before the end of the year.  Stay tuned for more information as we know it, and as always, have fun!

Be sure to visit our entirely new, greatly improved web site at www.fundekals.com, and as always, have fun!

Thanks to fundekals for the information and images.
