Review Type:

First Look.

Advantages:

A remarkably full set of PE and resin parts to enhance the Mark 1 kit of the Bf109K, very finely etched in relief and with useful resin.

Disadvantages:

None noted apart from the necessity of powerful magnification!

Conclusions:

This set will certainly produce the goods in the right hands and I commend it to modeller of these wee models.

FirstLook

This set is designed to fit the double Bf 109 K-4 kit by Mark 1.

Brengun presents us with a 60x40mm photo-etched fret with a small resin casting that provides the central cockpit fairing and side console for this variant.

The fret itself is an amazing conglomeration of interior parts for the cockpit, undercarriage, radiators. The careful modeller will be able to produce a little gem using these parts as the relief effects on such sections a the wheel doors, cockpit floor and instrument panel are superb. Folding up a 2.5x2.5mm seat pan and the head rest will test your skills as will fitting the aerials and undercarriage leg compression links.

The instructions are in drawing form on an A5 sheet and give clear guides as to how it all goes together on the kit, including which parts of the kit are used or modified. No painting instructions are given.

This set will certainly produce the goods in the right hands and I commend it to modeller of these wee models. I have seen both on the net and in recent model shows that these 1/144 aircraft can be turned into superb replicas.

Thanks to Brengun for the review sample.
