Meng has become well known for their excellent armour and aircraft kits, and they have now entered the world of scale model motorcycles.
This one, a 1/9 scale Kawasaki Ninja H2, is a beauty.
This is one of Kawasaki's latest entries into the large capacity sports bikes with a supercharged 1000 cc engine putting out a whopping 200 HP, or 210 with ram air, and a top speed of 295 kph, which for a street legal bike is insane!
Meng’s new release is presented in pre-coloured plastic, but don't let that fool you into thinking it won't be a nice kit.
Upon opening the box, you are greeted with 12 multi-coloured sprues, five individual parts, two rubber tyres with accurate tread pattern, several bags of screws, suspension springs, metal decals, a small decal sheet, two etched frets with brake disks and grill, a screwdriver, a polishing cloth and lastly a 35 page detailed instruction booklet.
The quality of the parts is very nice and the coloured parts, I won't lie, really raised my eyebrows.
The one-piece chassis in the metallic green particularly impressed me.
Going through the instructions, I very much liked the breakdown, being in chapters with very nice colour photos, a detailed description of the stats and how each assembly works on the real bike, a very nice touch.
The construction sequence begins with the engine, then onto the frame and rear swing arm with fitment of chain and rear wheel.
Next it goes on with the exhaust, and front forks, brakes and wheel. This is all fitted to the frame, and then the fuel tank construction and placement.
Once this is all done the kit is really starting to come together, and then you start adding the accessories including pegs, mirrors, air intake, and then finally the impressive dark chrome fairings.
With everything now together, one can start to shine it all up with the supplied polishing cloth, leaving you with an impressive looking kit built straight from the box.
For those wanting to go the next level, you could either do so on this kit by adding and painting in extra details, or you could buy the unpainted version of this and go for gold.
Either way, I don't think you will be disappointed.
