Sea Fury Engine Front and Spinner Correction

The Airfix Sea Fury is undoubtedly the best of its type curently available in 1/48 scale but the kit does suffer from a number of frustrating errors and shortcomings.

A couple of these are a blunt spinner and a pretty basic engine front.

Barracuda Studios has released a set that will address both of these issues.

Barracuda Studios' 1/48 scale Sea Fury Engine Front and Spinner Correction comprises just five parts in perfectly cast pale yellow resin - a new engine front, forward engine cowl, spinner cap, spinner back place and prop shaft.

The one-piece engine front is presented with bracing, fine cooling fins and other detail cast in place.

Detail is clearly superior to the kit part.

The new spinner is accurate in shape, and also an improvement over the Airfix effort.

Some careful cleaup will be required to remove some of the parts from their casting strips, but nothing beyond the skills of he average modeller.

Once freed, the parts will be a drop fit installation with no surgery required to the kit.

This is a great way to enhance and correct your Airfix Sea Fury. Installation will be painless too.
