Tamiya's 1/32 scale P-51D Mustang is available online from Squadron.com for just $146.99!

Here’s my Douglas D-558-1 Skystreak (Ship n.1) at Muroc Flight Test Unit (NACA) in 1949 based on the 1/48 scale Special Hobby kit. 

I did not use after-market accessories when detailing this kit. All enhancements were scratchbuilted (gears, doors, cockpit, etc.), including the Allison J35 turbojet.

All the surfaces were riveted.

The model was painted with Tamiya and Gunze acrylics.

Kit decals were used.

The paint job was completed with Tamiya Clear acrylics, polished with MicroMesh and Tamiya Compounds.
