Douglas DC-3 in IDF Service

Tamiya's 1/48 scale P-47D Thunderbolt is available online from Squadron.com

Description

Three camouflage schemes characterized 50 years of service in the IDF. The schemes and respected decals are well represented in IsraDecal's related topic. One decal sheet was sufficient for the three models.

I used the venerable Monogram originated kit that is also nearly two generations old.

The dimensions of the model capture well the looks of the real aircraft. However, a considerable amount of work is required to eliminate seam lines. In addition, scratch work was never ending to enhance details and accommodate for the changes made in the aircraft during its long service time.

Thanks to the large size of the model, the inaccuracies blend in the authentic look of the Dakota.
