The Bf 109 is one of the most popular subjects for aircraft modellers, and therefore decal makers too, with numerous different schemes available. This release offers a bargain fourteen subjects covering a wide gambit of colour schemes; all are interesting and appealing in my opinion.

The coloured placement guide provides port and starboard profiles for each of the subjects, along with small upper and lower surface plan views. Many of the schemes include modeller’s notes providing useful information focused mainly on subtleties of the paint finish and markings, but also covering other features where applicable.

The Decals

The decals are supplied in Xtradecal’s usual polythene zip-lock bag. They appear superbly well printed by Microscale Decals, with excellent colour density and registration.

Complete national insignia are provided including swastikas.

A small and easily overlooked errata sheet is included, and this provides correctly sized green rings for the forward part of the spinner of the Bf-109F-2 flown by I/JG3’s Technical Offizer.
