are available online from Squadron.com
The Fw 190 in radial or inline engined form is a justifiably popular subject, with numerous different schemes available, especially where the radial engined variants are concerned. This release offers a bumper crop of fifteen subjects, and covers a wide gambit of colour schemes; all are interesting and appealing in my opinion.
The fifteen schemes offered are:
-
Fw-190A-2, Schlagter Stab/JG 26, France, 1942;
-
Fw-190A-3, I./JG51, Operation Barbarossa;
-
Fw-190A-4, II/JG 51, Oblt Hans Mohr, The Netherlands, 1943;
-
Fw-190A-5, JG 54, Kommodore Anton Madler, Estonia, 1944;
-
Fw-190A-5, II/Sch.G 1, Hptm Hans Frank, Kiev-Sud, 1943;
-
Fw-190A-5, I/JG 54, Major Beam, 1942/43;
-
Fw-190A-6, II/JG54, Kommandeur Naj Erich Rudorffer, Finland, 1944;
-
Fw-190A-6, Stabsstaffel JG 51, Oblt Fritz Luddecke, East Prussia, 1944;
-
Fw-190A-7, I/JG 1, Oblt Wilhelm Krebs, Dortmund, 1944;
-
Fw-190A-8/R6, Stab JG 26, France, 1944;
-
Fw-190A-9, Adjutant I/JG 301, Leck, 1945;
-
Fw-190F-8, Stab I/SG 2, Austria, 1945;
-
Fw-190F-8, Stab I/SG 2, Austria, 1945 (alternative scheme);
-
Fw-190D-9, I/JG2, Fw Werner Hohenberg; and
-
Fw-190D-9, Jagdgeschwader JG300, Kommodore Maj Gunther Rail, Prague, 1945.
The coloured placement guide provides port and starboard profiles for each of the subjects, along with small upper and lower surface plan views. Each of the schemes include modeller’s notes providing useful information focused mainly on subtleties of the paint finish and markings, but also covering non-standard features where applicable.
The Decals
The decals are supplied in Xtradecal’s usual polythene zip-lock bag. They appear superbly well printed by Microscale Decals, with excellent colour density and registration.
Complete national insignia are provided including swastikas.
