Ultracast has three new resin updates for the Airfix 1/48 scale P-40B/C:

48266 - Curtiss P-40B/C Tubular Exhausts

This is suitable for Airfix kit #A05130 and similar.

The resin exhausts are direct replacements for the kit parts. They are hollowed out at the ends and feature the charactertistic upsweep.

48267 - Early P-40B Hollow Steel Prop & Spinner Curtiss 11' dia, Blade 614-1C1.5-12

This is suitable for Airfix kit #A05130 and similar.

Early replacement propeller and spinner assembly. The Airfix blades are noticeably narrow. These are a definite improvement.

48268 - P-40B Aluminum Prop & Spinner Curtiss 11' dia, Blade 89301-3

These propeller blades are wider and of a different profile than the earlier steel blades, and required a different shaped opening into the spinner compared to the round opening found with the earlier steel blades.

Most photos of A.V.G. Flying Tigers P-40B aircraft show these blades.

All the sets feature beautifully fine detail. Cleanup will be fast and easy.

Fans of early American P-40s and Commonwealth Tomahawks will be very pleased to see these three useful new releases from Ultracast.

Thanks to Ultracast for the review sample.
