Revell's 1/32 scale

Messerschmitt 262B-1/U-1

Tamiya's 1/48 P-51B Mustang is available online from Squadron.com for only $26.99!

Description

Here is my favorite topic that suffers from a low variety given that only a handful of aircraft existed. The model plastic is nicely engraved and separated control surfaces are provided including slats. However, the model does not offer more details by comparison to models of 1/48 scale in the market and the cockpit, wheel wells and gun bay details are sparse.

Engineering quality varies. Some areas had a good fit notably, the wings and fuselage. Other areas are difficult to assemble, such as the cockpit tub to the fuselage. A lot of work is required to eliminate protruding panels. I decided not do deal with the issue to make the building process enjoyable and even kept the canopies loose.

Kit decals were supplemented by decals from my spare box. Aircraft numbers may not be to scale.

In all, you get a finished model that looks like the real aircraft for a Revell friendly price. If you wish however, to build the definitive 262B then, Trumpeter`s wings and engines matched with Hasegawa`s fuselage is your best bet.
