Fantasy Print Shop Decals has produced a fine quality decal sheet in the AIRfile range depicting the Hawker Hunter in RAF Service.

The decals are superbly printed by the Fantasy Print Shop with good colour saturation and register. 

As usual with Fantasy Print Shop waterslide decals the carrier film is ultra thin and my experience with Fantasy Print Shop decals in the past has been that the decals have to be handled carefully and will snuggle down into the surface detail well.  The carrier film then almost totally disappears under a coat of clear.

The high quality waterslide decals contain options for the following 9 different single seat Hawker Hunters

• Hawker Hunter F.Mk.4. XF976 “B” flown by Gordon Browne of No 3 Squadron of the Royal Air Force based at RAF Gellenkirtchen in West Germany in May 1957.  The aircraft is finished in Dark Green and Dark Sea Grey upper surfaces with High Speed Silver under surfaces.

• Hawker Hunter F.Mk.5. WP130 “S” of No 34 Squadron of the Royal Air Force based at RAF Tangmere but on deployment to RAF Nicosia, Cyprus during ‘Operation Musketeer” in November 1956.  The aircraft is finished in Dark Green and Dark Sea Grey upper surfaces with High Speed Silver under surfaces.  The aircraft has cream coloured emulsion paint temporary banding markings for air combat games identification.

• Hawker Hunter F.Mk.6. XF383 of No 12 Squadron of the Royal Air Force based at RAF Honington in July 1984.  The aircraft is finished in Dark Green and Dark Sea Grey wrap around camouflage.

• Hawker Hunter F.Mk.6. XFJ of No 20 Squadron of the Royal Air Force based at RAF Gutersloh in West Germany in June 1959.  The aircraft is finished in Dark Green and Dark Sea Grey upper surfaces with High Speed Silver under surfaces and yellow wing tips.

• Hawker Hunter F.Mk.6. XK149 “44” of No 79 (Madras Presidency) Squadron of the Royal Air Force based at RAF Brawdy in the late 1970s.  The aircraft is finished in Dark Green and Dark Sea Grey upper surfaces with Light Aircraft Grey under surfaces.

• Hawker Hunter F.Mk.6. XF383 “14” of No 229 Operational Conversion Unit (154 Squadron) of the Royal Air Force based at RAF Duxford in August 1960.  The aircraft is finished in Dark Green and Dark Sea Grey upper surfaces with High Speed Silver under surfaces and white wing tips.

• Hawker Hunter F.Mk.6. XG185 “74” of No 4 Fighter Training School of the Royal Air Force based at RAF Valley in 1974.  The aircraft is finished in Roundel Red, White and Light Aircraft Grey training livery with black anti-glare panel..

• Hawker Hunter F.Mk.9. XF421 “C” of No 8 Squadron of the Royal Air Force based at Khormaksar in Aden in 1962.  The aircraft is finished in Dark Green and Dark Sea Grey upper surfaces with High Speed Silver under surfaces.

• Hawker Hunter F.Mk.4. WV275 “D” flown by Squadron Leader Ray Chapman, Commanding Officer of No IV (AC) Squadron of the Royal Air Force based at RAF Jever in West Germany in 1956.  The aircraft is finished in Dark Green and Dark Sea Grey upper surfaces with High Speed Silver under surfaces.
