Hellcat Fuel Tank

Brengun has released a nicely detailed twin-pack F6F Hellcat drop-tank set. I am aware of several brands offering small-scale Hellcats, including Platz, Mitsuwa, Academy, Revell (re-boxed by Lodella) and AHM. No doubt, the drop-tanks will be equally well suited to any of these.

The pair of drop-tanks comes in a small cellophane bag stapled to a card header along with instructions and a black backing paper.

The simply instructions provide clear drawings indicating how the PE straps and sway bars fit each resin tank.

The parts are all of good quality, needing just a hint of resin mold flash to be removed. The PE fret thoughtfully includes one spare of each part.

Brengun’s tanks will no doubt improve on the kit parts they replace. I have included Brengun’s own images of the parts added to a partially assembled example of what I am guessing is the Platz kit judging by the apparent quality of molding.

This paired drop tank set is an effective way of refining and adding detail to any suitable Hellcat kits; I highly recommend it.
