FirstLook

Vingtor has produced a comprehensive set of decals for late model Harrier test and demonstration aircraft.

This Sheet offers three interesting schemes for Test and development versions of the Harrier GR 5,7 &9.

Scheme 1 is for a GR.5 / Pegasus 11-61 ZD402 in an overall ‘Midnight Blue’ scheme with White trim and Markings the Aircraft wore this scheme circa 1989 while trialling the Upgraded Pegasus 11-61 engine.

Scheme 2 GR.9 Prototype ZD320 in a two tone low viz scheme of BS381C / 638 DSG and BS381C/ 637 MSG this scheme features a large’ 9’ insignia on the tail.

Scheme 3 GR.7A Prototype ZD318 again in a two tone low viz scheme of BS381C / 638 DSG and BS381C/ 637 MSG

Finally an extra set of serials for ZD319 and a SAOEU Tail fin flash are included to allow other options to be built.

The decals are very nicely printed by BOA from the Czech Republic and are perfectly in register and have minimal carrier film and appear on the sheet to be acceptably thin. Full Stencils are included for Schemes 1 +2 with scheme 3 borrowing stencils from scheme 2.

The painting and placement guide is nicely printed in full colour with commentary on each marking option colour options and also suggestions for suitable kits.

Conclusion

This is a nicely produced decal set with a good selection of interesting schemes and with some bonus options thrown in - a very good choice if you want to build a Harrier that’s a bit different.
