First Look. |
Advantages: |
Well researched, informative markings guide, excellent quality printing. |
Disadvantages: |
None apparent. |
Conclusions: |
These are very good quality decals, which have obviously been well researched. I think that Lifelike Decals has selected interesting and attractive schemes in all cases. I definitely recommend all four sheets. I note that they are marked "Limited Edition", so it may pay to order quickly if they appeal to you. |

Produced in greater numbers than any other four-engined aircraft, serving in almost every theatre of WWII, and employed in a multiplicity of roles with several nations; the B-24 Liberator offers enormous scope for modellers seeking markings and colour scheme variations. The sheets reviewed here are restricted to USAAF bomber and photoreconnaissance aircraft; but still offer considerable variation of colour and marking options.
The decals come in the ubiquitous A5-sized zip-lock bag with folded A4 pages for instructions. These are nicely printed in colour and include detailed notes describing each scheme. I think that a lot of research effort has been made judging by their content. This said, Lifelike do acknowledge where doubt our conflicting information exists. They include propeller logos, and where required, decals for camera ports and the de-icing boots on the leading edges of flying surfaces. Some modelers may use the F-7 camera port decals as a guide to cutting out, detailing and glazing their models. The decals appear to be of superb quality.
