Balkan Models continue with their largely Balkan themed decals with their latest limited edition release of 1/48 Su-25 Frogfoot decals. The decals, printed by PrintCarrier all appear to be in register with minimal carrier film. There are eight options provided that cover the primary markings, while Frogfoot specific stencils will have to come from the kit supplied decals.
It is nice to see that the Russian Air Force roundel have been updated to include the dark blue edging on the red star introduced on aircraft from2009/2010. It is excellent to see that the instructions provide you with full colour four view images of each option however, the plan views are quite small. If I was to make some constructive criticism, while it is nice that the colours are representative of the actual camouflage schemes, it would be nice if a greater contrast could be used as it is very difficult to make out the actual camo pattern on option 7 the Su-25, Blue 21, from the Georgian Air Force.
A very nice touch from Balkan Models is their painting table that allows you to match your favourite paint for each colour scheme.
Decals are provided for:
-
Su-25, No.122, Macedonian Air Force, 101st Aviation Squadron, Petrovec Air Force Base, 2001
-
Su-25, No.123, Macedonian Air Force, 101st Aviation Squadron, Petrovec Air Force Base, 2001
-

-
Su-25, Blue 33, Ukrainian Air Force, 299th Tactical Aviation Brigade, Kulbakino Air Base

We are certainly spoilt for choice with aftermarket decals for 1/48 Su-25s and Balkan Models have added to those options, highly recommended.
Thanks to Balkan Models for the review sample.
