Recommended for any KM-1 ejection seat be it a kit or aftermarket seat that is lacking seatbelts.

FirstLook

Eduard’s KM-1 Fabric ejection seatbelts are a recent addition to their small but growing line of Fabric seatbelts and only one of two in the collection that are made for jet subjects. The F-4 Phantom being the other.

Modeller’s have long suffered from ‘floating seatbelt syndrome’ when using photo etch items and it looks like Eduard have come up with a simple solution to solve the problem.

Two frets are supplied in the usual Eduard flat packaging. One textile fret is produced by the well known company HGW who among other things have been doing micro fabric seat belts for a while now. The metal fret is by Eduard and covers the seat belt buckles and metal fittings.

Eduard’s usual instruction sheet clearly shows the necessary steps to achieve the final result. I’d suggest using something like white glue to attach the parts as it will still provide an amount of flexibility to the seatbelts once they are in position. Cyanoacryclate may provide a bond that could prove to be too rigid for the textile parts.

This simple seatbelt set from Eduard provides a simple but realistic accessory in the evolution of scale modeling.

I’ll be trying it on my Eduard Mig-21 when the time comes.

Thanks to Eduard for the samples.
