Tamiya's 1/48 scale
DAP Beaufighter Mk.21

by Brett Green

Tamiya's 1/48 scale Beaufighter Mk.VI is available online from Squadron

Description

Here is my latest completion - Tamiya’s 1/48 scale Beaufighter Mk.VI converted to an Aussie Mk.21.

I have used True Details’ (ex KMC) cockpit set; oil cooler intakes, open cowl flaps, seats, porcupine exhausts and wheels from Red Roo Models, Falcon vacform observer’s blister and a bunch of other details, conversion bits, refinements and corrections.

BTW, Mk.21s did not have the prominent heater ducting in the fuselage, but I only found out after I had sealed up my model.

This model will appear in Spencer Pollard’s forthcoming ADH book on building Tamiya aircraft models.

The new book will be available in the coming months.

More information will be available closer to release.
