When it comes to popular aircraft for modellers both the Bf 109 and Fw 190 are hard to beat; and justifiably so. They were both superlative WW2 fighters, with sleek yet slightly sinister lines, and served as mounts for many of the top aces of all time. Such qualities alone would be enough to explain their appeal; but being German and built in large numbers also means that there is an almost endless range of markings and colour schemes to apply to them. No wonder them that they are both such popular subjects for decal Makers.
This review deals with three more releases in Lifelike Decals’ Me 109 series, and one in their Fw 190 series. I have reviewed their Me 109 Part 2 previously here on HyperScale.
The decals come in an A5-sized zip-lock bag with a folded A4 pages for instructions. These are very nicely printed in colour and have a narrative for each subject. They give information like service dates, location, pilot, and notes on colour schemes. The subjects appear to be well researched, and quote the references used. Mention is made where the colour of a marking may be in doubt, and the sheet provides an alternative. Paint call-outs use RLM codes. The instructions also include a black & white stencil placement guide. The decals look excellent and to be of very high quality. Each sheet offers four choices of subjects, and includes stenciling.
The aircraft covered by each of the review sheets is listed below. More information about each aircraft can be found in some of the images.

Conventional wisdom would seem to say that there could never be too many Bf 109 & Fw 190 models. It is no wonder then that Lifelike continues to offer yet more schemes to attract fans of these Luftwaffe stalwarts, so look out for more the series.
These are superbly produced decals of attractive and popular subjects. I am happy to recommend all of them.
Thanks to Lifelike Decals for these samples.
