A few small pinholes in larger components,no brass wire or cordage supplied, instruments for control panel are printed on instruction sheet, not supplied as decals. |

This kit will build up into a very nice representation of a German WWII shipboard catapult, with plenty of scope for weathering and adding extra detail if wished, and would be a great focal point in the display cabinet |

Released as a companion for their own resin kit of the Arado Ar 196 (HPH 32003R), this catapult is also ideal for mounting your Revell Arado on as well.
This multi media kit contains over 80 parts cast in grey-green resin, pre-cut steel tubing to represent the air bottle/ram bodies, and plastic mesh for the catwalk flooring.
A few pinholes are present in some of the larger castings, but nothing a spot of cyano and a quick sand down would not fix.
Detailing in the mouldings is good, with some parts having wire inserts cast in to strengthen them and to provide a stronger joint.
The railing stanchions are provided as small moulded tubes on a pouring plug, these will need drilling to accept the wire railings (brass would be the ideal medium for this, this is’nt supplied in the kit).
The launch-rail beam is a hefty moulding (440mm long),and the base is made of 2 indentical sections that stack on top of each other, the instructions recommend adding at least 0.75-1 Kg of ballast in the bottom section to prevent the catapult tipping over when the aircraft is mounted.
You will also need to find some cordage for the carriage cables, again not supplied in the kit but easy enough to source and not a major problem.
The instructions are printed on 8 A4 sheets, clearly drawn and laid out and easy to follow. Instrument gauges for thr controle console are printed on page 6 to be cut-out and glued to the model,it would have been nice toi have decals for these, but again, not a problem.
In summary, this is a well cast and put together product, which will be an absorbing project
